Arario Gallery Shanghai Reopens in New Art Deco Home

Arario Gallery Shanghai has relocated to a 1931 Art Deco landmark that has recently emerged as a cultural centre within the growing arts precinct along Suzhou Creek.

The gallery has presented a new exhibition of works from artists across Asia to mark their new location in Suhe Haus, a historic building which also houses the Longlati Foundation, a ShanghART Gallery venue, and other art spaces.

The nearby area has also attracted institutions such as Fotografiska, UCCA Edge, and numerous galleries that have established a thriving presence in the area during the last five years.

From now through May, the first exhibition in the new space, Fluid in Forms, showcases works by ten artists from Korea, China, and Japan, including prominent Shanghai-based artists such as Chen Yufan and Chen Yujun.

As the longest-established Korean gallery in China, Arario Gallery first entered its neighbouring market in 2005.

Beyond its commitment to showcasing Korean art, the gallery works with artists from Japan, India, China, the Philippines, and Indonesia, offering a rare pan-Asian perspective within the Chinese art scene. —[O]
