Melbourne Art Fair today announced Melissa Loughnan as its new Fair Director.
Loughnan founded Collingwood gallery Utopian Slumps in 2007 before shifting to art consultancy from 2015. For six years she was a board member of independent art organisation West Space.
She described the fair as 'an event of great cultural legacy'.
Melbourne Art Fair was previously directed by Maree Di Pasquale, the CEO of the Melbourne Art Foundation, which produces the fair.
'Melissa's curatorial expertise and extensive relationships within the Australian and international collecting community will be instrumental in further delivering on Melbourne Art Fair's ambitious plans as the dominant Australasian art fair,' Di Pasquale said.
The fair next takes place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 20 to 23 February 2025. —[O]
