About Frieze New York 2026

Launched in 2012, Frieze New York is among the world’s most influential international art fairs. It is the New York City version of the original annual Frieze Art Fair in London. Frieze New York is typically held in May, with ambitious presentations of solo, group, and well-curated booths from leading international galleries. Alongside the Los Angeles edition, the event is directed by gallerist Christine Messineo.

Frieze New York is held annually in The Shed in Manhattan. Like other Frieze Fairs, exhibitions, and installations at the Fair have a strong focus on living artists in contemporary art. Its 65+ participating galleries from New York and worldwide showcase new projects, historical works, and exciting installations.

Attendees can visit curated sections, such as “Focus,” which presents galleries under 12 years old. Each year, Frieze Art Fair NYC features multiple guided tour options, such as highlighted works and artists, emerging stars, curated tours, and collectors’ tours. These tours let visitors view Frieze NYC in depth to gain a better understanding of contemporary art in New York and around the world.
