Press Release

Entitled Pablo Picasso. Timeless Innovation – Innovation Intemporelle, Beck & Eggeling International Fine Art and Priska Pasquer Paris present their latest exhibition in Paris featuring works by Pablo Picasso in dialogue with four contemporary artists: Leiko Ikemura, Radenko Milak, Aljoscha, and Zohar Fraiman. The premises are located at 6 rue des Coutures Saint-Gervais in the Marais district of Paris, right next to the Musée Picasso.

The concept of timelessness in art is both elusive and powerful. It refers to works that transcend their epoch, addressing universal truths and emotions that resonate across generations. The exhibition Pablo Picasso. Timeless Innovation – Innovation Intemporelle approaches this idea by presenting the works of Pablo Picasso in dialog with works by Leiko Ikemura, Aljoscha, Radenko Milak, and Zohar Fraiman. Each artist challenges the conventions of their time in their own way and redefines the boundaries of contemporary art. The exhibition offers an exciting opportunity to experience Picasso’s works alongside the work of contemporary artists, discovering the diversity and richness of various artist generations.

Despite their diverse backgrounds and artistic approaches, Picasso, Ikemura, Aljoscha, Milak, and Fraiman share a common commitment to pushing the boundaries of art. They all address themes that are deeply personal and universally significant, exploring the complexities of human existence, memory, and the future. Their works invite viewers to engage with art on various levels, offering both aesthetic pleasure and intellectual challenge. The exhibited artists also work with various materials, techniques, and media. The spectrum ranges from installations to painting, gouaches, watercolors, inks, drawings, linocuts, etchings, lithographs, and ceramics.

Beck & Eggeling International Fine Art and Priska Pasquer Paris are very pleased to announce their partnership in Paris. Both galleries have long been engaged with a broad spectrum of art from the early 20th century to the present, from Classical Modern to contemporary art. This collaboration underscores their shared passion and commitment to the art world. Both galleries have already exhibited artists such as Aljoscha and Leiko Ikemura and have curated dialogue exhibitions, contextualizing works of Classical Modern art with contemporary art.

Dr. Reinhard Spieler, Director of the Sprengelmuseum in Hanover, will have a conversation with Michael Beck and Priska Pasquer on Picasso at the finissage on 9 November 2024 at 6 pm (registration required). Further events, including performances and discussions, are planned for the duration of the exhibition.
