Blue Lotus Gallery proudly presents Japanese photographer Yashuhiro Ogawa’s debut exhibition in Hong Kong. Some 20 handmade dark room prints from his latest photography book: The Dreaming will be on show. The Dreaming (published February 2020) is a collection of black and white photographs by Ogawa, shot during his travels throughout Asia over the past 30 years. Ogawa visited China (including Tibet), Myanmar, India, Cambodia and other countries.
For the artist, revisiting his negatives felt like reliving an old dream.
But for many of us, these images will echo the feeling of care free travel: the sensation of freedom, andwaiting... simply feeling alive... something we, for now, can only just but dream about.

Born in Kanagawa in 1968, Ogawa’s interest in photography was sparked at the age of 24 after encountering the work of Sebastião Salgado in a magazine.
Located on the quiet historic Pound Lane in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong, Blue Lotus Gallery specialises in contemporary photography with a focus on exploring the culture and identity of Hong Kong.
