David Zwirner is pleased to present new works by Yayoi Kusama in the artist’s largest gallery exhibition yet, spanning our West 19th and West 20th Street locations in New York.

The artist’s work will be concurrently on view in Hong Kong: Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now, the largest Kusama retrospective to be staged in Asia, outside of the artist’s native Japan, will be on view at M+ Museum through May 14, 2023.

Additionally, the artist’s monumental mosaic artwork, commissioned for Grand Central Madison by the MTA Arts & Design and titled A Message of Love, Directly from My Heart unto the Universe (2022), was recently unveiled at Madison Concourse of Long Island Rail Road’s new eastside terminus.

About the Artist

Yayoi Kusama’s work has transcended two of the most important art movements of the second half of the twentieth century: pop art and minimalism. Her extraordinary and highly influential career spans paintings, performances, room-size presentations, outdoor sculptural installations, literary works, films, fashion, design, and interventions within existing architectural structures, which allude at once to microscopic and macroscopic universes.
