Frankfurt, Perspectives
An Exhibition Series at Galerie Peter Sillem
 January to May 2025

For the first half of 2025, Galerie—Peter—Sillem will present a series of three solo exhibitions under the collective title Frankfurt, Perspectives. Showcasing the work of photographic artists Götz Diergarten, Wolfgang Stahr, and Daniel Poller, the series offers unique vantage points on the same city—its architecture, spaces, and layers.

Daniel Poller – “Frankfurter Kopien”
 26 April – 31 May 2025 (Opening: 25 April, 6–8 PM)

Concluding the series is Daniel Poller’s Frankfurter Kopien, a conceptual exploration of the New Old Town (Neue Altstadt). Poller photographed historic stone elements (spolia) incorporated into the area’s reconstructed buildings, overlaying them with the color palette of the rebuilding project’s guidelines. These photographic objects reflect on their own historicity, revealing the layers of historical reconstruction as a visual palimpsest and critiquing the processes that shape the Neue Altstadt.

Daniel Poller (b. 1984) studied photography at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts, completing his diploma in 2013 under Peter Piller and earning a master’s degree in 2017 under Joachim Brohm and Peggy Buth. He has received various grants and awards, including the 2016 Working Grant from the Saxony Cultural Foundation, the 2018 Kunstfonds Bonn award, the 2015 Aenne Biermann Prize for Contemporary German Photography, and the 2017 European Architectural Photography Prize. Poller’s works have been exhibited widely, including at Galerie Tobias Naehring (Leipzig), Galerie Poll (Berlin), Goethe-Institut Bordeaux, and Kunstverein Junge Kunst (Wolfsburg). His pieces are held in collections such as the Federal Art Collection in Bonn, the Dresden State Art Collections, and the Berlin City Museum.
