Sylvie Fleury is a contemporary pop artist that employs sculpture and mixed media to address issues such as shopping and the paradigm of the new age. Born in 1961 in Geneva, Switzerland, where she still lives and works, the artist emerged as a key figure in the art scene from the early nineties with her “shopping bag” installations, which lay the foundations for a body of work that would draw on elements from twentieth-century art and consumer society.
