Theodore Ereira-Guyer (1990, London) lives and works between London, UK and Portugal. He studied at Byam Shaw School of Art at Central Saint Martins, NUA and the Royal College of Art in London.
Ereira-Guyer’s practice is deeply rooted in the exploration of knowledge that is not readily accessible through personal experience or immediate perception. He delves into the realm of understanding that exists beyond the human gaze, where objects of knowledge are not physically present but still exert a profound influence, activating a sense of remembrance and agency. This unique approach allows him to create works that engage the viewer in a thoughtful consideration of the intangible and the unseen. His artistic approach seamlessly transitions between various mediums such as print, sculpture and painting, each of which he explores of these disciplines with equal creativity, resulting in a diverse and captivating body of work.
Ereira-Guyer’s work is held in private and public collections throughout the world including Centre Pompidou, France; Calouste Gulbenkian Museum Collection, Portugal; Millenium BCP Foundation, Portugal; MACAM | Museu de Arte Contemporânea Armando Martins, Portugal; Yale Center for British Art, US; TATE Special Collections, UK; TATE Archive, UK; British Museum, UK; Victoria and Albert Museum, UK; Royal College of Art Archive, UK; The Lookout Collection, UK; The Government Art Collection, UK; Fundação PLMJ, Portugal, among others. He was the recipient of the Helen Chadwick Award for multidisciplinary artists.
