Press Release

Martin Browne is delighted to present, Sincerely Yours, a new exhibition of ceramic sculptures, bronze sculptures and paintings by Brendan Huntley.

Sincerely Yours is the culmination of the work Huntley has done to date and a departure. While the ceramic sculptures and oil paintings might be familiar as a furtherance of his past work, the bronze sculptures flip shape and texture, using bold, snaking lines of bronze to draw pictures on the wall, with collaged cut-out bronze shapes completing the effect. The result is work that feels wholly new.

About the Artist

Brendan Huntley principally explores what it is to be human by infusing inanimate objects with lifelike sensibilities. In his recent practice Brendan has produced a prolific assortment of upside down jugs, teacups, gravy boats, dinner glasses and other homely vessels. By twisting the traditional techniques of ceramic sculpture, Brendan lets the clay speak for itself or on its behalf, exploring what it is to be imperfect, mundane, fearful, lustful, joyous and soulful.
