Press Release
Martin Browne Contemporary is delighted to present a new exhibition of works by Lucas Grogan. A word to the wise is enough. Lucas Grogan’s new work tells a cautionary tale of love, loss and the pale blue beyond. Sound bites of everyday wisdom interlace ironic humour with sincerity. A miasma of information distilled through a hive-mind resulting in eerily ceremonial icons. Haunted by longing, his fascimile of self-portraits search the delicate wreckage of a recent heartbreak. The works are the diaristic musings of an artist flat on his back with his arms spread wide, his heart in the right place and his eyes on the stars.
About the Artist

Lucas Grogan’s was born in Cooma, NSW and now lives and works in Melbourne. He began exhibiting in 2005 and since that time has had a meteoric rise to prominence.
