Press Release

We are pleased to announce our last exhibition of 2025 at OMR: Topologías del cuidado (Topologies of Care) brings together a selection of works by Geles Cabrera, Maruch Sántiz Gómez, Candida Höfer, and Berenice Olmedo that reflect upon certain sensitive and critical forms of care: toward the body, memory, spaces, and displaced knowledge.

Cabrera approaches the female body with her own intimate and modern sculptural language; her view on form is lyrical, and the moments and postures she sculpts evoke closeness and sensuality. Sántiz Gómez portrays objects, gestures, and symbols from her Tzotzil identity, restoring agency, beauty, joy, and pride to the daily practices within her community. Höfer photographs empty institutional spaces with a precision that reveals the structures of power that have historically determined who is authorized to inhabit visibility. Olmedo, for her part, works with kinetic sculptures and objects constructed from reused prosthetics, orthotics, and medical devices.

The exhibition weaves a topology where care is neither solace nor ornament, but a political gesture that cuts across materials, forms, and memories.

“Topologías del cuidado stems from the need to think about care beyond the intimate or affective; as a political, aesthetic, and critical practice. Bringing these works together is a way of observing how bodies, memories, and knowledge are sustained—and sometimes repaired—within historically unequal structures.” —Agustina Ferreyra, one of the directors of OMR and Artistic Director of Bodega OMR.
