About the Artist

**Haneyl Choi **produces sculptures and installations that explore the intersections of queer and Korean national identities, forging new narratives around LGBTQ visibility and culture.He received his BFA in sculpture from Seoul National University and MFA from Korea National University of Arts. He has held solo exhibitions at Arario Museum, Seoul, 2021; P21, Seoul, 2020; Commonwealth and Council, Los Angeles, 2018. His work has been shown in exhibitions at Para Site, Hong Kong, 2021; Arario Museum, Seoul, 2021; Karma International, Zurich, 2021; Ilmin Museum of Art, Seoul, 2020; Asia Culture Center, Gwangju, 2020; National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Gwacheon, 2019 and Total Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul, 2018 among others.

About the Gallery

P21 was established in 2017 by Soo Choi. Located in Itaewon district, a cultural hub in Seoul, the gallery opened with an inaugural exhibition by Choi Jeong Hwa and continues to promote compelling and original examples of international contemporary art. P21 is known for its unique exhibition space with two separate facades, respectively named P1 and P2, that enable artists to create site-specific works.
