Press Release

Whitestone Gallery Seoul is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Kappao, opening on December 13th. Known for her witty reinterpretations of everyday moments through various mediums such as ceramics, painting, and installation, Kappao has attracted attention for her unique artistic style. Her ceramic works, primarily crafted from clay, have a rustic warmth that reflects her distinctive artistic approach. The paintings and installations, with their bold colors and free-flowing drawings, express her joyful and intimate view of daily life.

Kappao’s work explores themes that resonate with our everyday lives—relationships, emotions, and the small, meaningful moments that make up life. Her works often feature figures with ambiguous expressions, hinting at emotions such as curiosity, indifference, and joy.

In this exhibition, Kappao expands her exploration of everyday themes by addressing the concept of “boundaries.” She examines the connections between humans, animals, plants, and nature, drawing attention to the often invisible lines that define these relationships. By blending ceramics, paintings, and installations, she blurs the boundaries between mediums and genres, creating a harmonious flow where all elements come together.

Kappao invites viewers to reconsider the concept of boundaries through her unique and vibrant expressions, offering fresh perspectives rooted in the simplicity of everyday life.
