BONGSU PARK

Contemporary Korean multidisciplinary artist Bongsu Park's work explores the relationship between new media and traditional art practices such as sculpture, installation and performance. Park collaborates with choreographers–such as Yoomi Ahn–creating intricate compositions where movement is expressed in its purest form, through space, people, sound and editing. Dancers, often a man and a woman, interact in a controlled yet abstract space; their bodies responding to one another are affected by sculptural elements. While in constant symbiosis, the dancers delicately test the existing balance between themselves as well as their surroundings. Bongsu Park's profound desire to focus on concepts of unity brings her to dissect and rethink the formal and metaphorical lines in human cycles and interactions.
