Hong Kong born Cassian Lau emmigrated to Canada at the age of 6. There, he majored in Graphic Design and Art administration. After graduating, he moved back to Hong Kong and opened a fashion boutique with his wife.
Having returned to his first interest, Cassian Lau's first exhibition “Electric Claustrophobia,” was inspired by his home town. This exhibition consisted of paintings depicting colourful, bright cartoon characters. However, after closer inspection, these paintings represent deeper social issues.
