Darby Jampijinpa Ross Biography

Darby Jampijinpa Ross (c.1910–2005), a much‑respected Warlpiri elder and founding member of Warlukurlangu Artists, was known for bold, vibrantly coloured gestural paintings of his Country north of Yuendumu, his emu and bandicoot totems, and his depictions of Ngapa (water), Pamapardu (flying ant) and Wardilyka (bush turkey).
