Franka Hörnschemeyer was born in Osnabrück in 1958 and currently lives and works in Berlin.
Solo exhibitions include Peenemünde, Jewish Museum, Athens (2008) and Aufenthaltswahrscheinlichkeit/Residence-probability, Galerie Nordenhake (2006). Notable public projects include BDF - bündig fluchtend dicht, Deutscher Bundestag, 1998-2001; PSE 900, Kunsthalle Hamburg, 2000; TSE 11022, Hamburger Bahnhof Museum für Gegenwart, Berlin, 2002. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, most recently including Positionen: 1979-2008, vom feministischen Aufbruch tur Normalität, Fabrikhalle, Darmstadt (2008) and Ideal City - Invisible Cities, Brandenburgischer Kunstverein Potsdam (2006), which was also on display in Zamosc, Poland. Hörnschemeyer is the recipient of numerous grants and prizes, most recently the Fellowship of the Henry Moore Institute, Leeds (2006). During the spring of 2016 she will be exhibiting with the Room In Room exhibition series at the Grüntuch Ernst Lab/former Jüdisches Mädchenschule in Berlin.
