Gema Quiles’ artistic practice focuses on both painting and sculpture. Her works stem from a personal imagery in which elements of nature unfold and are reinterpreted to generate a new reality. The resulting works evoke a sense of evasion. Private and symbolic, they serve as a shelter from the artificial world, inviting the viewer to participate, inhabit, and move through them.
Gema Quiles graduated in Fine Arts at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia and is currently a doctoral candidate in the same university. She has been able to develop her work at the Sztuk Pieknych Academy in Wroclaw (Poland), and at La Rectoria in Barcelona, thanks to the ‘Hábitat Artístic’ artist scholarship. Her works have been exhibited in national and international galleries such as LKIF Gallery (Seoul), and the artist has been awarded with acquisition awards by the Aldebarán collection or the Provincial Council of Castellón.
