Born in 2000, Ladji Diaby lives and works at Ivry-sur-Seine (FR).
In his sculptures, Ladji Diaby creates a new, highly personal language rooted in his native environment and directly connected to his roots. His work always revolves around objects and images, which he uses as transfers, a technique he employs to explore spirituality, emotions, feelings, and idols, as well as the absurdity of official, imposed narratives.
Working with objects gathered from family, friends, and the street alongside photographs and images collected over time, he follows an intuitive process where unexpected associations reveal memories, dreams, and stories he never consciously chose to tell. Drawn to misunderstood, displaced, or misused objects and images, he transforms them into poetic artifacts that re-enchant everyday reality.
