Lee Byungchan (b.1987) has consistently paid attention to the ecosystem of capital. Lee's practice consists of plastic creatures, investigating into fluctuating phenomena caused by capitalistic obsession with objects and transforming mass of urban environments into time. Visualising the intangible material—capital, he constructs certain paces and spaces by adopting his experiences of capitalistic energy driven into newly-developed cities. Lee has participated in numerous group exhibitions including SUMMER LOVE (Songeun Art Space, 2019), Nature, Life, Human (Museum of Contemporary Art Busan, 2019), BIOFANTASY (Daejeon Museum of Art, 2018), Art Is Form (Gyeoggi Museum of Modern Art, 2017), Peach Blossom Hopeful Flower of Utopia (Culture Station Seoul 284, 2016), Plastic Myths (ACC, 2015), Low Technology (Seoul Museum of Art, 2014). His solo exhibitions opened at P21 White Elephant (2019) and at Songeun Art Cube The Camouflaged Dried Pollak (2017) in Seoul. His international activities include CULTURES ÉLECTRONIQUES ET ARTS NUMÉRIQUES (jardin des plants, NANTES, FRANCE, 2016) and Please Return to Busan Port (Vestfossen Museum, VESTFOSSEN, NORWAY, 2016).
