Li Xiaogang, born in 1994 in Guizhou, China, graduated from the Chengdu Fine Arts Institute of Sichuan Conservatory of Music in 2024 with a master’s degree. He currently lives and works in Chengdu, Sichuan. Li’s paintings are based on a non-narrative construction of works, and he believes that there is an important necessity to construct a specific system of works. He is able to implant unspecific visual fragments and perceptions through a systematic framework of personally constructed works, bringing out a certain strangeness that had been suppressed. This interest in strangeness in his work stems from his own reflections on the dilemmas and events he is facing at the moment.
