Mark Kimber Biography

Mark Kimber was born in Adelaide, South Australia in 1954. He completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Visual Arts), SA School of Art, University of SA (1981) and MA Fine Art Degree, Chelsea School of Art, London, UK (2000).

Mark has exhibited widely nationally and internationally including Paris, Spain, United States, New Zealand & China. Group exhibitions include Phantasia, Wollongong City Gallery, NSW & Samstag Museum, Adelaide (2010); Phantasia, Photoquai Festival, Australian Embassy, Paris (2009); Perfect for every occasion, Photography today, Heide Museum of Modern Art, VIC (2007), Fotonoviembre, photographic biennial, Centro de Fotografía, Tenerife, Spain (2007). Collections include National Gallery of Australia; National Portrait Gallery; Art Gallery of South Australia; Art Gallery of Western Australia; Gold Coast City Art Gallery; Sir Elton John Collection. Mark is currently Studio Head of Photography & New Media, SA School of Art, University of SA and lives and works in Adelaide, South Australia.
