The artist was born in 1959 in Schwelm, Germany. He lives and works in Berlin and Brädikow.
“What I’m trying to express in my work is difficult. It’s not just to reflect a current feeling or a sudden urge like, see this, a painting by someone trying to tell you something; a little rough maybe ‘cause that’s his personality. That might be pretty authentic but it wouldn’t be enough for me right now. I’d consider it to fleeting. Maybe that’s old fashioned but I think a painting needs complexity and quality to keep it attractive for a longer period of time.”
