The Ambiguous assembles artists who interrogate the self as unstable and contingent, presenting it as a dynamic terrain in which body, identity, desire, myth, and history are continually reconfigured. Through photography, sculpture, and painting, the exhibition examines how the self—adolescent, exiled, hybrid, divine or ritualised—serve as sites where cultural memory converges with processes of personal becoming. Instead of fixed representations, these works generate a constellation of mutable figures: doubled identities, merged anatomies, ancient goddesses, silhouettes in transition, and young women poised for transformation. Collectively, they initiate a dialogue on the fluidity of existence.

Named after a Phoenician goddess, Galerie Tanit is a long running contemporary art gallery based in Munich and Beirut that has dynamically adjusted its focus with the times.
