NICHOLAS BLOWERS
Nicholas Blowers was born in Essex, United Kingdom in 1972. Blowers works predominantly in the medium of painting. The subject of his paintings often concerns landscape with recent work focusing on dense, claustrophobic bush interiors. He has been a finalist in numerous prizes and was the winner of the Paddington Landscape prize twice in 2007 and 2009 and the kings School Art Prize in 2007. His showing history includes solo exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart. Before coming to Australia Blowers completed a BA Hons in Fine Art at Southampton Institute between 1991-1994. He is represented in various public collections including The parliament House collection, Art Bank, Newcastle Art Gallery and Macquarie Bank. He lives and works in Hobart, Tasmania.
