Remy Faint (b. 1997) is a contemporary Australian artist whose practice expands the languages of painterly abstraction through examination of its global histories, mediating cross-cultural and material frameworks, particularly those referencing his Chinese heritage. Since graduating with First Class Honours from the University of New South Wales Art & Design, Faint has maintained a consistent exhibition practice across public institutions and galleries.
In 2025, Faint presented the solo exhibition Delineation of a Trace at Mosman Art Gallery and was selected as a finalist in the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship and the Archibald Prize, with works exhibited at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. He was also included in Artists in CQ: Of the Region at Rockhampton Art Museum. In 2024, Faint was a finalist in the Create NSW Visual Arts Fellowship and presented a new body of work at Artspace, Sydney. That same year, he presented his first exhibition with CASSANDRA BIRD as the recipient of Art Incubator and was awarded the Tim Olsen Drawing Prize at UNSW Art & Design. In 2023, Faint won the Gosford Art Prize, exhibiting at Gosford Regional Gallery, and presented the solo exhibition The Library and the Cave at Cement Fondu. In 2022, he was selected for Hatched at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art.
