ROMAN GYSIN
b. 1984, SwitzerlandThe sculptural works by Roman Gysin skillfully question traditional patterns of perception. Decoration, the uncanny, the fetish, the everyday and unapparent can be found in his sculptures, wall works and installations and move skillfully in peripheral zones and moments of transition. The fascination for decorative phenomena in everyday life, which the artist encounters during his research and documents photographically, form the starting point of his works. As well as the intensive examination of materiality and its possibilities of transformation. For Gysin art is a process through which he can consider terms and simultaneously deal with them by means of tangible works.
