SARA RAMO
Sara Ramo taps into the unconscious, fiction, magic and mythology to create narratives of resistance, offering new spaces and temporalities that invite viewers to question consumerist society and its values. Employing different media —collage, installation, video, to name a few— the artist appropriates daily life elements, scenes and spaces only to be extricated from their original context and assigned entirely new meanings.
Recent exhibitions include La Caída y otras formas de vida, Sala Alcalá 31 (Madrid, 2019); lindalocaviejabruja, Museo Reina Sofia (Madrid, 2019); the 33rd and 29th São Paulo Biennials; Para Marcela e as Outras,Capela do Morumbi (São Paulo, 2017); Desvelo y Traza, Matadero (Madrid,2014); 9a Bienal do Mercosul (Porto Alegre, 2013); Sharjah Biennial 11 (United Arab Emirates, 2013).
