Stephen Bram is a painter best known for his abstract expressionist and conceptual paintings. His canvases are spatial explorations of objects and situations in space. Bram studied at Chisholm Institute of Technology and subsequently at the Victorian College of the Arts and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. His contribution to Australian contemporary art is seen in his introduction of European modernist theories into abstract compositions. Bram's work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group shows, and his work is held in public collections.
