b. 1987, SwitzerlandKnown for his thought-provoking work at the intersection of memory, identity, and technology, Tobias Nussbaumer creates work that combines drawing and site-specific installation. He uses fragments from his archive to build virtual spaces using animation software and machine learning models. The digital results are reworked and transformed into hand-drawn pieces in black coloured pencil and ink on paper. In exhibitions, Nussbaumer extends his drawings into the venue’s architecture, forming immersive settings that interweave memory, technology, and time while probing the fragility of perception.
