Vanila Netto’s practice brings together new work from her practice of photography, sculpture, drawing and video. Referencing Modernist design and architecture, nature, science fiction and technology, her work attends to the personal anxieties produced by the ruinous exploitation of the things we all share. The re-use of ordinary objects as a reaction to the over saturation of commodification becomes a reoccurring motif evidenced throughout the different mediums of practice. The shifting between indoor studio set-ups, cool landscapes, stark architectural forms and technological artifacts encourage the viewer to question our relationship with the environment and our throw-away lifestyles.
