WU YIFAN
Born in 1999 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. Wu Yifan is a budding young artist. Her artistic creations areautobiographical in nature, calmly interpreting her own life’s journey. Her works are based on the language offigurative painting, like a movie montage, focusing on creating a complex and subtle emotional atmosphere in thepicture, showing the connection between the individual and the world through the contrast between cold colorsand reality, evoking memories and expressing her inner feelings at the same time. She is good at observing thesubtle relationship between the city and the individual, and draws inspiration from reality and memory, especiallyher life experiences in the snowy fields of Yanjiao in Beijing and the foggy city of Chongqing, which have had aprofound impact on her character and emotions. The language of her paintings is poetic and dreamlike, full of idealsand mystery, which can also trigger the viewer’s empathy and evoke inner memories and emotions.
