Photographers Ena Boskovic and Alma Egeskov Show in New York
Sponsored | NYAW
The exhibition presents a dialogue between two bodies of work, exploring the tension between the body's pull toward the natural world and the constraints of modern society.

Between Us, Ena Boskovic and Alma Egeskov's duo exhibition in New York, continues at 526 West 26th Street through 20 December 2024. Photographs on view show glimpses of women in various urban or industrial interior spaces while the outside world is evoked through windows, layers, and light. The body appears at conflict with its environment—whether natural or artificial, or private or societal.
In her photographic work, Ena Boskovic (b. 1991) explores the relationship between the body and physical space—mainly through self-portraits or landscapes captured only with available light. In the diptych Behind Metal Sculpture (2023), the artist's exposed body lies across the floor, partially concealed behind an oxidised metal sculpture. The industrial environment's harshness amplifies her vulnerability. A similar tension between the organic and inorganic is mirrored in the exhibition space, where Boskovic's ceramic vase houses live orchids.
Alma Egeskov (b. 2001) creates photographs of carefully cropped and isolated moments that are left open to interpretation. An example is Touching Face (2023), included in Between Us, where a young woman's face is half covered by her raised hand. Egeskov's subjects are often her four sisters, who appear as themselves or female archetypes.
Between Us is on view at 526 West 26th Street until 20 December 2024 from 11 am to 5 pm. More information can be found @enabosk.
