We’re still reeling from Paula Rego‘s sensational retrospective at Tate Britain over the summer.

Fearless, excoriating paintings tackled everything from the patriarchal violence of Salazar’s authoritarian regime in Lisbon in the 1950s—which included her incredibly moving abortion series—to her masterful etchings of reimagined fairy tales.

Victoria Miro presents us with another opportunity to soak up her remarkable work here in London. The Forgotten, presented across the gallery’s Wharf Road spaces, brings together works from her 2007 ‘Depression Series’ to a number of unflinching self portraits made in 2017.
