Carraig-na-gCat – Colour Chart (2025) was realised during Lucinda Burgess’s residency at The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation in coastal Ireland. The work comprises a plank of reclaimed wood cut into six batton-like horizontal pieces, each marked with a different wax pencil, whose surface functions simultaneously as support, record, and site.
The title refers to a specific coastal location, anchoring the work in lived geography. Rather than applying colour as a self-contained field, Burgess
