'Drawn to the ancient concept of genius loci - the spirit of a place - and the profound energy of the Burren, the rugged and mystical region on Ireland's west coast where I live and create, my paintings become a conduit for a deeper connection with nature. As I paint, the veil between the seen and unseen seems to thin, revealing a profound interconnectedness between consciousness, reality, and the land itself. Magritte often depicted objects in unexpected settings. Was he just being playful, or was he hinting at a deeper reality, where things aren't quite as they seem? "The Living Mountain," takes a similar approach, not through dreamlike juxtapositions, but by delving into the soul of the landscape.'– Richard Hearns.
