David Zwirner is pleased to announce an exhibition of work by renowned German artist Gerhard Richter (b. 1932) at the gallery’s Paris location. This marks the artist’s third show with David Zwirner since the announcement of his representation in 2023, following solo presentations at the gallery’s locations in New York (2023) and London (2024). On view will be new works on paper, as well as multiple important and distinct bodies of painted work by Richter from the 1990s to the 2010s, including photo paintings, Abstrakte Bilder (Abstract Paintings), and reflective glass installations. Marked by an impressive variation in scope, scale, and technique, these works collectively highlight the artist’s expansive understanding of the painted medium and his endlessly investigative approach to the process of imagemaking itself.
