The booth’s contemporary section highlights artists that react to social environments evolving under the influence of new technology. The presentation at Art Taipei will feature a selection of sculpture, video, and works on canvas that reflect upon individual and collective identities in tumultuous era of digitality. Chan Ka Kiu’s video installation Cosmic Dust, Silent Ballet (2025) draws a parallel between the nebular

hypothesis and the social anchors around which individuals regulate behavior. Caison Wang’s work on canvas The Dust Settles (2025) integrates traditional Buddhist motifs with representations of virtual chains, contemplating notions of awareness and self-reflection in relation to technology as a medium. Lov-Lov’s Life as a Rumor (2025) mosaic series allude to the charming and candied façade that veils the true complexity of technological implications, highlighting the ambiguity of images and information, while Mak2‘s Home Sweet Home (2019-) triptych series elucidate the inevitable disparity between digital fantasies and real life. Zhong Wei’s paintings examine the structures of social interaction in the digital verse, and his newly created sculptures imagine a new kind of human body, born from human-AI interaction, that is adapted to the contemporary modes of life.

In the classic section, French artist Bernar Venet’s bold geometric forms explore the tension between order and chance, inviting views to reconsider the nature of order, logic, and creativity. His concept of univocity forms a strong contrast with the lyrical abstraction of Chinese-French painters Chu Teh-Chun and Zao Wou-Ki - pioneers of integrating Chinese painting techniques with western abstraction. The poetry of Chu and Zao is exhibited in parallel with Jack Tworkov, whose work embodies the dynamic spontaneity of abstract expressionism. Finally, an iconic work by Gilbert & George finds heightened emotions in subjects grounded in the real and everyday life. Composed of maps, images of people of different diversities, picture enlargement of bodily secretions, as well as their own self-portraits, the artwork exemplifies the raw realism embraced by the collaborative art duo.
