__For the first part FIELD (Part 1), Choi Taehoon transformed the two gallery spaces into giant sculptures. Building upon this foundation, the second part, TONE (Part 2), showcases the results of the artist’s formative practice. Constructing sculptures using ready-made products, focusing solely on their form while disregarding their original functionality.

About the Artist

Choi Taehoon received his BFA and MFA in Sculpture from University of Seoul. He has held solo exhibitions at GCS, Seoul (2022); Ohsisun, Seoul (2021); Post Territory Ujeongguk, Seoul (2020); SeMA Storage, Seoul (2019); and participated in group projects at various institutions and gallery including Buk-Seoul Museum of Art (2022, 2014), Culture Station Seoul 284 (2021), WESS (2021), Museumhead (2021), Perigee Gallery (2020), Aram Nuri Art Center (2016), and more. And he was selected as a resident artist at Seoul Art Space Geumcheon (2019), MMCA Residency Goyang (2016), SeMA NANJI RESIDENCY (2014).

About the Gallery

P21 was established in 2017 by Soo Choi. Located in Itaewon district, a cultural hub in Seoul, the gallery opened with an inaugural exhibition by Choi Jeong Hwa and continues to promote compelling and original examples of international contemporary art. P21 is known for its unique exhibition space with two separate facades, respectively named P1 and P2, that enable artists to create site-specific works.
