the canvasses form an irregular chequerboard on the wall. the charge taker will use square formats of different sizes to create an open chequerboard that avoids the banality of a normal chequerboard, generating a dynamic construction. the painting involves a minimum of three canvasses, but no maximum, within the boundaries of the wall. in 1975 all the canvasses were identical for one activation, today they must vary within one activation and change from one activation to the next
