Press Release

Till Megerle’s exhibition at Caprii brings together a diverse group of drawings. His works range from meticulously detailed compositions to spontaneous sketches that evoke fleeting moments, showing multiple styles and techniques. This diversity is not merely an exploration of drawing as a medium, but serves as a method for probing the expressive potential within each form. His works are populated by figures that feel both intimately familiar and strangely alien, as though they exist in worlds just slightly out of sync with our own. These characters, often intertwined or distorted, hint at complex, ambiguous relationships that are charged with emotion and open to interpretation.

Megerle combines ink, marker, crayon, and ballpoint pen in contrasting colours to create enigmatic scenes where faces emerge from abstract shapes through fluid, expressive lines. Some images evoke a sense of timelessness, while others are unmistakably grounded in the present through subtle details, such as references to modern technology. Blending art historical influences with contemporary elements, Megerle’s work inhabits a space rich in contradictions, tensions, and frictions, where past and present collide.
