Starkwhite will participate in the 2013 edition of the Auckland Art Fair, which runs from 8 - 11 August in The Cloud on Auckland's waterfront.

This year the gallery will present a group show of works by artists including Billy Apple (NZ), Martin Basher (NZ/US), Rebecca Baumann (AU) Jae Hoon Lee (NZ/KR) Seung Yul Oh (NZ/KR) and others.

Starkwhite will also present two oversize inflatable sculptures by Seung Yul Oh in the fair's projects section. Compressed between the roof of a facilities block on the ground floor and the upper ceiling of The Cloud, the balloon-shaped sculptures press up against the exterior wall and bulge around the structural ribs of the building. Composed in vibrant orange and yellow, the glossy surface of the works reflect pastel washes of colour into nooks and crannies created by the swelling forms.

Located in New Zealand on Auckland's Karangahape Road, Starkwhite presents a programme of artists' projects, solo shows by represented and invited artists, independently curated exhibitions and occasional forays into new music and other interdisciplinary practices.
