Press Release

Bringing together paintings, sculptures, and photographs by gallery artists, What Lingers considers how form, light, colour, material, and gesture can evoke powerful reactions that continue to reverberate in memory long after the moment of encounter.

From visceral, atmospheric impressions of falling rain captured in natural indigo dye on paper to sensuous, abstract paintings made from hand-torn strips of silk that carry cultural memory, the works in the exhibition transform poetic visual expressions into sensory echoes that linger beyond the act of looking.

Artists include Miya Ando (b. 1973, Los Ageles), Karen Knorr (b. 1954, Germany), Zheng Lu (b. 1978, Inner Mongoia), Judith Murray (b. 1941, New York), Robert Natkin (1930–2010), Kenny Nguyen (b. 1990, Vietnam), Neha Vedpathak (b. 1982, India), Robert Yasuda (b. 1940, Hawaii), and Peihang Benoit (b. 1984, Taiwan).
