At Kiaf SEOUL, which will be held together with the Frieze Art Fair for the first time in Seoul, The Page Gallery presents works of 20th century masters such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Donald Judd, Agnes Martin, and Sean Scully, which cannot be easily seen anywhere else. In the context with the Pop and Minimalist masters, artworks by contemporary artists active in both domestic and international art scene, such as Choi Myoung Young, Ufan Lee, Tschoonsu Kim, and Philip Colbert, will be presented in the stand.
Particularly, this upcoming event is expected to attract attention by introducing the large installation work of Ettore Sottsass, a design master of the 20th century, for the first time in a domestic art fair. Italian designer Ettore Sottsass, known as the 'Picasso of the design world', was a person who revolutionised the design world by leading postmodern design in the 1980s. In the booth of The Page Gallery, Sotsass's large partition installation work will be introduced for the first time in Korea.
Meanwhile, New York-based visual artist Rob Wynne will present his latest work to domestic audiences for the first time. Rob Wynne is acclaimed for creating beautiful installations using molten glass, and is well known for collaborating with Christian Dior for installations at Houses of Dior around the world. A piece of J'adore text and a mirror glass work on the ceiling have been installed at the Dior House in Korea.
Ettore Sottsass and Rob Wynne will hold their first solo exhibitions in Korea at the EAST and WEST halls of The Page Gallery, respectively, to coincide with Kiaf SEOUL.
There will also be works that show the rich imagination and experimental spirit of young artists. The work of sculptor Jeom Soo Na, who makes the original space think by revealing grooves as a result of the natural splitting of wood, Misha Khan, who has created surreal works by reinterpreting heterogeneous materials, and Changwon Lee, who creates beautiful stained glass from discarded plastic pieces are all exhibited.
Artworks of The Page Gallery at Kiaf SEOUL 2022 can be seen from September 2nd to 6th at Booth B- 21, Hall B, COEX.
