Press Release

Landing approximately halfway between the winter solstice and spring equinox, Imbolc is the traditional Gaelic festival, marking the beginning of spring, from which Mr Jago’s latest body of work takes its name.

Both created in this special period of year, and full of the hope that its namesake festival represents, Imbolc continues Mr Jago’s exploration of humanity’s relationship with nature. Mr Jago’s newest solo exhibition with Unit London celebrates the promise of renewal, new beginnings and the quickening of life.

About the Artist

Mr Jago’s previously illustrative work has been advanced over the years to a place of pure abstraction - subtly shifting hues burst and drip in an expressive manner. Synthesising acrylic and spray paint these piquant creations reflect the artist’s love of the natural world: they encompass both the terrain and canopy of the earth’s atmosphere, at once reminiscent of leaves on a forest floor and stars in the night sky.
