Caitlin Devoy's practice examines sculptural materiality in relation to the body. Her focus is on the tactile, seductive and kinesthetic potential of materials, and their potential to engage the viewer in an embodied, rather than predominantly visual, experience. Her recent work employs humour as a critical tactic, drawing the viewer in to engage with knotted questions around sexuality, gender stereotypes and objectification.
