Daisuke Fukunaga was born in Tokyo in 1981. He graduated from Tama Art University in 2004, majored in Oil Painting at the faculty of Art and Design, and received B.F.A. He lives and works in Kanagawa.

He has received the first Koji Kinutani Prize held by The Mainichi Newspapers. He had solo exhibitions at Tomio Koyama Gallery in 2006, 2008 and 2011. His works were also exhibited at the group exhibition in Kyoto in 2010.
