Kevin Lincoln was born in Hobart, Tasmania in 1941. He began showing with the Social Realists Group in Melbourne in the 1960s and since then has continued to exhibit regularly in galleries in Sydney, Canberra, Hobart and Melbourne.
In 1990, a survey exhibition of his paintings and drawings was mounted by the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Launceston and toured Tasmania and Victoria. A major monograph, Kevin Lincoln: Art and Life, written by Hendrik Kolenberg, was published in 2006, giving great insight into the artist’s extensive oeuvre. A respected and important artist, his paintings, prints and drawings are held in the collections of regional and state galleries, including the National Gallery of Victoria, Art Gallery of New South Wales and the National Gallery of Australia.
He currently lives and works in Melbourne
