“I think daily objects assert their roles and reveal their existence. My works are archives of building scene that we often gave an indifferent look. “ –Lee Jung Min
Read MoreLee Jung Min, a media artist, started with ‘in and around’ solo exhibition at Kumho Museum and received a great attention through Media Façade at Pyeongchang Sochi Winter Olympics Information Hall in SK tower. She expresses lapse of time with 2D line drawing and composite animation from actual image. To reveal the interest in selective perception architectural factors (line and face, corner and wall, pillar, door, etc) are assembled on a plane resulting in perspective drawing in 3D space. Lines appear at different velocity which makes an individual realize that time lapse is very subjective through relationship of space, time, and image.
She mainly used powerpoint tool to illustrate artificial environment such as scene with architecture or structure. In this exhibition she introduces a fresh format of work that viewers make changes by themselves. Based on the position of viewers the image of the art changes. The artist wants them to experience the point when they perceive objects and scenes from a fixed structure. The subject of ‘Windows’, is close up buildings and objects. This artwork powers life into motionless urban scenery with penetration of light through open window and reflection of it. Selected scenes are analyzed then, supplemental elements are removed or bleached. Collage with actual image rearranges distance while lenticular technique brings sense of space and realism into the plane.
